Ray Romano

Ray Romano is an American actor, comedian, and writer, born on December 21, 1957, in Queens, New York. Best known for his distinctive voice and deadpan comedic style, Romano has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

Romano rose to fame with his acclaimed sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," which aired from 1996 to 2005. In the series, he portrayed the lovable and often neurotic character Ray Barone, a sports writer juggling the challenges of family life. The show earned widespread critical acclaim and garnered Romano numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2002.

David Letterman was so impressed with the comic’s 1994 appearance on his talk show that he had his production company develop a sitcom based on Romano’s observational family comedy. “Everybody Loves Raymond” (CBS, 1996-2005) was tailored to reflect Romano’s upbringing and talents. 

American actor, stand-up comedian, screenwriter and voice actor, is also known for his role in the Ice Age film series and TNT comedy-drama Men of a Certain Age, which he co-created with Mike Royce. In 2001, Romano was named one of E!’s top twenty entertainers of the year. In 2004 he became the highest-paid television actor in history for his role of Raymond on CBS’s Everybody Loves Raymond. 

It was later revealed on E! that he had broken another record by his show having the highest revenue at US$3.9 billion. Ray joined the cast of Parenthood beginning September 11, 2012.
