Kevin James

Kevin James, born on April 26, 1965, in Mineola, New York, is a versatile American actor, comedian, producer, and writer. With his affable charm, impeccable comic timing, and physical prowess, James has carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry.

Growing up on Long Island, Kevin James developed a passion for comedy from a young age. After graduating from Ward Melville High School, he attended the State University of New York at Cortland, where he played football and studied sports management. However, his true calling lay in the world of entertainment.

James' breakthrough came with the hit television sitcom "The King of Queens," where he portrayed the lovable and hapless Doug Heffernan. The show, which aired from 1998 to 2007, showcased James' comedic talents and endeared him to audiences worldwide.

In addition to his success on the small screen, Kevin James has made a significant mark on the big screen. He has headlined numerous successful comedy films, including "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," "Hitch," and "Grown Ups." Kevin James has been headlining the MGM feature Zookeeper which he also produced, and starring in Columbia Pictures’ Grown Ups along with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. 

Kevin James broke into the film world in 2005 in Columbia Pictures’ Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, but his comedy career started well before that as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. 

The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. His latest movie is “Here Comes the Boom.”
