Journey

Journey’s legacy has spanned over 30 years with 18 U.S. releases and over 75,000,000 in album sales. Their music is artful, intense, melodic rock played with passion and superb musicianship. A switch to their signature highly sophisticated rock occurred with the recording of their hugely successful album, Infinity, with breakout hits such as “Wheel In The Sky,” “Lights,” and “Feeling That Way.” 

The band’s next release, Evolution, brought the band their first US Top 20 hit, “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin”. Even more, the band’s next release, Escape, reached #1 and stayed in the charts for over a year. 

It also spawned three US Top 10 hit singles, “Who’s Crying Now”, “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Open Arms”. The follow-up, Frontiers, was also massively successful, staying at #2 on the Billboard album chart for nine weeks. Vocalist, Steve Augeri first recorded with Journey for the band’s 1998 contribution to the Armageddon soundtrack, “Remember Me”. The soundtrack, which hit #1 on the Billboard charts and was certified triple platinum.

Band Members:

Band History:

Journey was formed in 1973 by former members of Santana, including guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Gregg Rolie. The band's early years saw a fusion of jazz, rock, and progressive elements. However, it wasn't until the late '70s, with the addition of Steve Perry as lead vocalist, that Journey found their signature sound.

The breakthrough came with the album "Infinity" (1978), featuring hits like "Wheel in the Sky" and "Lights." Journey's success continued with a string of multi-platinum albums, including "Escape" (1981) and "Frontiers" (1983). The power ballads "Open Arms" and "Faithfully" became anthems of the era, showcasing Perry's emotive vocals.

Despite internal changes and brief hiatuses, Journey remained a force in the rock scene. They achieved further success in the '80s and '90s with albums like "Raised on Radio" (1986) and the reunion album "Trial by Fire" (1996).

Journey's enduring popularity is evident through their timeless classics, such as "Don't Stop Believin'," which gained a resurgence in the 21st century, becoming one of the best-selling digital downloads of all time.
