The group was founded in August 1974 in New York, New York by Deborah Harry of Wind in the Willows and Chris Stein of The Stilettos. Sometimes disco, sometimes punk, sometimes new wave, and sometimes hip hop, Blondie is known for frequently re-inventing themselves. In 2006, Blondie celebrated their 30th anniversary with induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the release of ‘Greatest Hits: Sound & Vision’. Blondie has sold 40 million records worldwide and is still active today. Their ninth studio album, Panic of Girls, was released in 2011.
